Horse and Chicken Manure / Mushroom Compost

£56.76 £70.95

Currently out of stock
Our Horse and Chicken Manure is a rich, black manure that is easy to work with and gives great results.

Our Manure is a mix of well rotted horse and chicken muck; it also goes by the name "mushroom compost" as, before it gets to us for bagging or blending, it serves a term growing mushrooms (you won't get loads of mushrooms in your borders, fear not).

We do three sizes of bulk bag; a jumbo bag contains approx 1000ltrs (one cubic metre) of manure, a standard bulk bag contains about 750ltrs (same as most builders merchants, other topsoil suppliers) and a 500ltr bag which is basically a half filled cubic metre bag!

Small bags of manure are 50ltrs and the perfect option if you want a small quantity of manure or if you have access issues and will have to carry the topsoil through your house or over any walls etc.

Delivery
We use a variety of delivery vehicles and haulage firms to complete our deliveries. Our standard service is 2 - 3 working days unless otherwise stated (you can choose a preferred date at the cart).

What you have ordered, and whereabouts you are, will determine the method of delivery, as well as the cost. When you enter your delivery address at checkout a haulage rate bespoke to your order will be generated.

In general - if you live in or near Chester, we'll deliver to you ourselves with a HGV crane, if you live elsewhere in the UK we'll use a pallet network who will use a manually operated pallet truck to move the pallet of bag(s) to the kerbside or onto a level, solid surface such as a tarmac drive (not gravel or grass sorry).

If you're ordering goods tipped loose in bulk then an 8 wheeler HGV tipper will drop it off. If you have any questions or if you have tight or restricted access, just give us a call on 01244 257584.

Please note small items valid for free delivery will be shipped with a 48 hr courier or with Royal Mail second class service.

Here are some quantity calculators to give you a helping hand, please note though these are just estimates and of course may not be exact - we advise you to under order so that you can always order more if you need to!

The basics...

Working out the area of a shape is the best start to working out how much product you need for your garden.

Now you have the basics for a square, triangle or circle area you can start to figure out how much of each product you may need...

TIP: If you've measured in feet simply work out the sq feet (using the same calculator above) and then divide by 9 and then divide by 1.2 - This will give you the m2 (square metres).
