Dandy's Landscape Supplies Centre is heavily involved in supporting our local community in any way we can - we regularly donate topsoil and compost to local schools, groups and clubs to get kids learning about the importance of knowing where your food comes from and encouraging them to grow their own healthy, organic fruits and veggies.
Lately we have been working with our local Council who are opening a Dementia Cafe near to our head office in North Wales and our MD, Adam Dandy, is a founding member and trustee of charity SHARE www.ShareAid.co.uk which has a charity shop in Chester city centre supporting local homeless people and a charity warehouse which sends clothing, aid and support to refugees fleeing their war torn homes across the globe.
Each year Dandy's organises a drive to fill our local foodbank, swapping products for donations of food from the public rather than taking money, and a drive to get a Santa sack full of Christmas presents for local children living in temporary accomodation over the holidays - the Sponsor a Gift appeal was an absolute SMASH in 2016 with two truck loads of gifts and goodies being dropped off as well as a fabulous Christmas Eve dinner and meet and greet with Santa at The Cheshire Ice Cream Farm!
Over the years we have raised and donated money to many other causes and we continue to so this year on year.
As we are a fairly small business with employees from the local area, Dandy's tries to assist the local community as much as possible, we sponsor local kids football team, the Hawarden Rangers, we donated play bark to local school which had theirs stolen off the kids play area overnight, we replaced a defaced park bench and we've donated thousands of pounds worth of prizes to various charity raffles and auctions including those raising funds for Parkinsons awareness, NCCA, Leukaemia Research and Prostate Cancer UK and more.
