Western Red Cedar is a large, fast-growing evergreen conifer native to western North America known for its fragrant, reddish-brown, decay-resistant wood.
It is widely planted for timber and as a dense, popular hedging plant, prized for its ability to resist pests and weather. The foliage has a sweet, often described as pineapple-like, scent when crushed.
Can grow very tall, reaching up to 65 meters (around 200 feet) in some areas.
