Concrete Block Production Operative
Location: Dandy’s (Chester) Ltd
Hours: Full time - Monday to Friday (with occasional overtime)
Pay: Competitive, depending on experience, plus bonuses
The Role
We are looking for a practical, hands-on person to run our concrete block production system using a static mixer and mould system.
This is a physical, outdoor, yard-based role producing large concrete blocks used in construction and civil engineering projects.
You’ll be responsible for running the production process from mixing and pouring through to demoulding, stacking and quality checking finished blocks.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operating the static mixer and producing concrete to the correct consistency
- Preparing and setting up Armblock moulds (we have multiple moulds in rotation)
- Applying release agent, pouring, compacting and finishing blocks
- Managing curing and stripping/demoulding of blocks
- Stacking and moving finished blocks using forklift/telehandler (if trained)
- Cleaning and maintaining moulds and production area
- Carrying out basic daily checks and reporting any issues
- Checking finished blocks for quality, shape and finish
You must be:
- Reliable, hard-working and physically fit
- Comfortable working outdoors in a busy yard environment
- Safety-conscious and able to follow a repeatable process
- Proud of producing a consistent, good-quality product
It would be great if you have:
- Experience in concrete, precast, aggregates or manufacturing
- Forklift or telehandler licence
- Experience using mixers, plant or industrial equipment
(But full training will be given to the right person)

Key Responsibilities
- Answering inbound customer calls professionally and confidently
- Taking customer orders over the phone and processing them accurately
