Scarletta, also called switch ivy, is an evergreen shrub known as Leucothoe Zeblid.
It is a low-growing, bushy plant with arching stems and leathery, glossy leaves that change colour throughout the year, starting as maroon or bronzy-red, maturing to deep green, and then turning red-bronze or claret in winter.
In spring, it produces small, bell-shaped white flowers.
