Press Release: Dandys.com Supports Local Community with Donation to Countess of Chester Country Park, Chester
10th October 2024
Dandys.com, a leading provider of landscaping products, has donated a substantial supply of amenity grass seed to the Friends of the Countess of Chester Country Park. This contribution will enable a newly developed area alongside a recently laid footpath to the Memory Milk Bank Garden in the Country Park to be reseeded.
The seed will be sown by TCV volunteers during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9th - 15th October) and on Saturday 12th October the Milk Bank Team from the hospital will be leading a ribbon walk across the park to the garden.
The donation is part of Dandy’s ongoing commitment to supporting local green spaces and community projects. The Countess of Chester Country Park, a 29-hectare area managed by The Conservation Volunteers in partnership with The Land Trust and three NHS Trusts, offers a vital green space in Chester, featuring woodlands, wetlands, and grasslands that attract numerous visitors for recreation and nature activities. The park has become a cherished site for the community, hosting events like weekly park runs, guided nature walks, and conservation activities that promote well-being and connection to nature.
Andy Scargill, Chairman of the Friends of Countess of Chester Country Park, expressed his gratitude for the donation:
“This generous contribution from Dandy's is a fantastic boost for our ongoing efforts to enhance the park. The new grass seed will help us complete the landscaping alongside this new footpath, ensuring that the those parents who come to find solace in the Memory Milk Bank garden will have a pleasant green area to walk through.”
Adam Dandy, owner of Dandys.com, highlighted the importance of the partnership:
“We are thrilled to support the Countess of Chester Country Park with this donation. Green spaces like this are the heart of our communities, providing a place for people to connect with nature and each other. We hope this seed will help maintain the park’s natural beauty and enhance the experience for all its visitors.”
The park, which has transformed a former landfill into a vibrant green space over the past decade, plays a crucial role in promoting biodiversity and community engagement. Initiatives like this not only help preserve the park’s natural beauty but also support its role as a hub for outdoor activities, including educational programs and conservation efforts led by local volunteers.
